Get With The Program
The concept of mental programming has profound implications for how we understand ourselves and navigate our world. In the seventh episode of The Manhattan Prophet podcast, we explore the fascinating parallel between human consciousness and computer programming, revealing how the information we consume shapes our reality.
Our minds function remarkably like computers, with early childhood experiences serving as our "formatting" phase, establishing our fundamental operating systems. Parents, environment, and increasingly, media sources, program our understanding of reality. This programming determines what we output - our behaviors, beliefs, and contributions to collective consciousness. When this programming is faulty or manipulated, we operate from a distorted understanding of reality, leading to what can be described as a form of mass psychosis.
Mass psychosis occurs when large segments of society lose touch with reality, descending into delusional thinking. Throughout history, phenomena like witch hunts exemplify how collective madness can take hold. Psychologist Carl Jung noted that those suffering from mass psychosis experience moral and spiritual deterioration, becoming more unreasonable, irresponsible, and emotionally volatile. Modern techniques of "menticide" - the systematic killing of the mind - begin with sowing fear through terrorism threats, wars, or constant fear-mongering, softening the public for manipulation. Today's technological infrastructure, with smartphones, social media, and censorship algorithms, provides unprecedented capacity to induce this psychosis on a mass scale.
One significant illusion perpetuated through our programming is the myth of scarcity and competition. We're taught that resources are limited, justifying high prices and cutthroat competition. However, this ignores the reality that many markets (diamonds, precious metals, oil) are manipulated through price fixing rather than reflecting true supply and demand. Similarly, the Darwinian notion of "survival of the fittest" has been misapplied to justify societal inequities. Modern evolutionary biology actually emphasizes collaboration rather than competition as the key driver of evolutionary success. Constant competition creates stress, isolation, and anxiety, whereas collaboration aligns with our nature as part of a collective consciousness.
Media plays a central role in our programming, functioning as modern-day opium. Screens capture attention through dopamine-driven cycles, preventing deep self-reflection. Hollywood and mainstream media present curated, distorted information, creating an illusion of knowledge while perpetuating controlled narratives. Real spiritual teachings are distorted into fantasy, material success is glorified over inner wisdom, and even the physical properties of screens - blue light and certain frequencies - may disrupt optimal brain function.
To reprogram ourselves, we must first accept that we are not merely material beings - a fact supported by quantum physics. By understanding the power of repetition in shaping neural pathways through neuroplasticity, we can intentionally harness this same mechanism for positive change. The words we hear, speak, and think literally shape our reality. Music particularly embeds messages into our subconscious, making affirmations powerful tools for transformation. When belief and faith take root, our perception shifts, aligning us with desired outcomes through vibrational resonance with the universe.
The path forward lies not in seeking external guidance but in recognizing our innate capacity for conscious evolution. By choosing faith over fear, we can manifest a "heaven-like" rather than "hell-like" reality. Through knowledge and truth, we can reprogram our understanding of ourselves and the world, breaking free from the mass psychosis that limits our potential as spiritual beings in a material world.
